    GIF images are supported in s40?

    Are gif images supported in s40. If not is there any alternative?

    for showing the loading window. Actually i dont know how to apply this code http://masterkissor.blogspot.in/2011...r-in-j2me.html . so Alternatively, I read about gif image are good for animation purposes . So i thought i will apply them for loading or progress bar.

    While you can usually load .gif files with Image.createImage, they will not animate.
    As the article writes it is supposed to be invoked periodically. While the text does not mention, it refers to an external variable, spinnerHour, that is the one which is expected to step between 0 and 11 (then restart).

    It is actually a little known fact that you can play animated GIF via the MMAPI Player class.
    You can play/animate it in either a FormItem or a Canvas.
