    push registry

    Hi,
    Hope some body can clarify the following issues.

    1. I have set alarm based on push registry (that will load mu midlet at certain point of time). My unsigned midlet shows a note (not expected in production app). If Nokia sign it for publishing, will the note disappear?

    2. How can I create transparent image for J2me, can anybody point to some code? My image is transparent.

    3. Can anybody point me some code for making addvertisement based app with inneractive, is it worth to have such add based app in store? How is the experiences for J2me based phones?

    Thanks,

    Hi

    1.) The note shown is a security prompt.The security prompt will be shown even after publication.However, the note will have an option like "Allow always" , which will make sure that the prompt does not appear again.

    2.) I am not sure if I understood your question properly.All PNG images can store transparency.JPEG images cannot.Are you using PNG images?

    3.) Follow these links for Nokia Ad Exchange (Powered by Innearctive)

    Re: push registry

    For Point 1 - you need to educate your user on first launch of the app on the devices with a popup to guide him to select "Allow Always" option the first time when he gets this popup.

    Re: push registry

    I am not sure why that method didnt work.First off, if the image is available right from the start and is going to be bundled along with a JAR, I suggest you to use any PNG Optimizing softwares. They will remove the transparency for you.You can then put the transparency removed images back into the JAR.

    Eg : http://optipng.sourceforge.net/
    There are many more softwares like this.

    If the image is dynamically loaded, then you can try this approach,

    Every pixel of an Image usually consists of an Alpha Channel followed by RGB Channels.The Alpha channel determines the level of transparency.Modifying that value to either 0 or 255 can help achieve full transparency or opaqueness.
    You can get the alpha component alone for a pixel like this.
    [CODE]
    ....
    a = ((rgbData[index] >> 24) & 0xFF);
    ...
    [CODE]

    @3

    The Code provided uses LWUIT for User Interface.I am now assuming that you are using LCDUI or Canvas for UI Creation.
    Refer : https://console.inner-active.com/iamp/wiki -> Developer's Guide -> SDK Integration -> J2ME SDK Integration.

    If u want banner ads, you will have to call the specified function and it will give u an Image and a Link for the Ad.You need to add the Image to the Form and use PlatformRequest on the URL.
    It looks like Interstatial ads are easier to implement than banner ads.

    As that is using the third party GUI development library called as LWUIT, you may want to know more about the same here . You have to download the lib and then fix the imports. But before that check if you really need to use the lib.
