    Can you explain a little more about what you're trying to do?

    Do you want to make a Note taking app that stores its data in a database or local storage?

    GeekChamp has a great set of tutorial that show you how to load and store information in IsolatedStorage using a variety of formats...

    Have a go at some of the above, and if you have any further questions, feel free to ask...

    TSV (tabulator separated values) and CSV (comma separated values) are simple, well known formats. Like
    Code:

    then you read this file line by line, and split the lines among the commas
    Code:
    string[] elements = csv.Split(',');
    to get the fields.
    A more complex textual format is XML, you can certainly build and parse XML-s with C#
    The real question is how large your data is going to be and what you expect from it.

    You might want to look into XML serialization. It's really easy to do and will allow you to write/read XML easily. I believe it is better to do it that way as all the necessary escaping, etc. is taken care of by the Serializer. You will also get actual objects instead of string-arrays.
