realtime capture of video frames [JavaMe]

Hello, i wonder if i can capture images like video capture do, i mean i want to capture images (about 24 images per second) and store them in memory for further realtime image processing, since i can't force phone to take images smaller than 640x480, and taking such large images take more than 2 seconds.

On more powerful platforms you usually have the chance of getting realtime camera preview images, but in Java ME the preview is displayed as a separate control, see http://developer.nokia.com/Community...ots_in_Java_ME.

Yes, it is possible with Symbian C++. Both using preview images (CCamera::StartViewFinderBitmapsL supplies some 10-20 preview images per second), or using the video recording (CCamera::StartVideoCapture actually produces individual images, however they are usually in some YUV variant).
Just remember that Symbian C++ is an option for Symbian devices (S60 and Symbian^3/Anna/Belle), so it is not useful if you want to support Asha or Series 40.

If you visit the "root" (http://developer.nokia.com/Community...sion/forum.php), the Symbian board is part of "Other Platforms, APIs and Discussions". Direct link to Symbian C++ board is http://developer.nokia.com/Community...p/40-Symbian-C, and also there are some Qt boards nearby (which is a bit simpler than Symbian C++)
