    Question Catch touch events in Container

    Hi everybody!

    I'm implementing a List view in my app. When the user press an list item a new form is displayed. I'm using LWUIT List Renderer sample[1]. So, my question is How can I catch the touch event in a Container object? is it that posible? I'm using the new Asha SDK 1.0,
    and obviously LWUIT.

    Hi minirich,

    Well... although your reference article is OK (it is written by one of LWUIT's author) it is 5 years old, was written for the LWUIT current version at that time and does not include the part you are looking for (it explains the View part or Renderer and not the Controller).
    In short, in this case forget that (quite useful in other circumstances) article.
    I strongly recommend you to:
    - Download the full last Nokia LWUIT version, if not already done (it is included in last Nokia Asha SDK 1.0)
    - Study "LWUITDemo" app, that is included as one of the 26 examples inside Nokia release of LWUIT
    - Study "LWUIT_ListDemo" app, that is included as one of the 26 examples inside Nokia release of LWUIT
    (You can find those examples in C:\Nokia\Devices\Nokia_Asha_SDK_1_0\plugins\lwuit\examples)

    Basically, the solution could be as simple as adding a listener when constructing the list:
    Code:
    List myList = new List();
    myList.addActionListener( this );
    ...

    public void actionPerformed( ActionEvent ae ) {
        // get item selected: use getSelectedItem, getSelectedIndex, ... or some other handy method
    }

    Thank you very much angel_012007, it works perfect!
