    A major bug with platformRequest for "mailto" protocol

    In the new 1.0 emulator, when I use a call like this
    platformRequest("mailto:imgen@hotmail.com?body=Hello%20Asha%20501");
    strangely, the mail body part will appear to be directly appended to the mail signature text "Sent from my Nokia Asha phone" so it becomes something like
    Sent from my Nokia Asha phoneHello, Asha 501
    which is of course ugly. Is there a way to get around?
    Firstly, how come something so stupid creeps into the 1.0 software?

    Based on the description it is more like a bug of the emulator itself, not platformRequest. You can file a bug report (it is somewhere under Support in the bottom of the page), and if you have access to an actual Nokia Asha 501, it may be a good idea to check on that too.

    The bug is also present on the device, that's why I am so frustrated with it, it's such a stupid thing. Before the emulator does not have a mail signature, it is OK. But now, it's frustration. And there seems is nothing that I can walkaround.
    That's Nokia, their hardware is over the top, second to none, it's always the software that drags them down. They seldom gets software right. So seldom.

    At least it is a new device, so there are good chances for a fix. Thank you for reporting.
    (If someone else is interested, Imgen filed the bug here: http://developer.nokia.com/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=1353)
