How to increase the size of message queue listening to a port in J2ME?

    Hello everyone,

I have developed a message receiver app in j2me. App is listening to a specific port (50048). When app is closed and an sms arrived, it is queued by AMS. This queue is maintained by AMS but its size is limited to 30. So, when an sms arrives on (31st number). It exceeds the size of queue and AMS discarded the oldest sms on queue i.e. the 1st sms and insert the new sms.

I want to know, is it possible to increase the queue size. If yes, guide me the way.

    Thanks

That is probably not configurable. Instead you may want to use the Push Registry (http://developer.nokia.com/Community/Wiki/PushRegistry), which is able to start your Midlet when an SMS arrives (http://developer.nokia.com/Community...try_in_Java_ME, http://developer.nokia.com/Community..._Push_Registry)

Hi wizard_hu_ ... thanks for reply.

I have already implemented push registry in this. When sms arrives, a dialog box appears in which AMS asks for permission to launch the MIDlet. Even though my midlet is signed (thwate), it still asks permission. So, until user manually click on the dialog box prompt, midlet doesn't start automatically. Hence, all the sms gets queued on AMS and after 30th sms AMS starts discarding the oldest one.
