    Re: [Moved]Asha Developer Competition Results

Bye Nokia Asha, Hi Android & iPhone.
I would like to gently point out that neither Android manufacturers (Samsung has very few region specific low prize competitions) nor Apple (No competition ever) has ever conducted competition with regularity. Their interaction with developers is restricted mostly to SDK updates ! Only Nokia has conducted and given away prizes and cash with regularity.

I also saw the email, and i must say i'm having trouble with some of the judges choice.... i know that it seems like i'm biased
but my apps are much much much better than most of the selected apps.
for the news & information section i posted Numblr http://store.ovi.com/content/381961 which is the ONLY (but also build great and fully featured) Tumblr application on the Nokia store (Tumblr is a top tier 2 social network/blogs site where many people goes for news & information)
    for the MUSIC & ENTERTAINMENT section i submitted Fireworks touch - http://store.ovi.com/content/210574 , FlickrFlipper http://store.ovi.com/content/384841, Snowman builder http://store.ovi.com/content/357751 & Christmas Tree Maker - http://store.ovi.com/content/367511
All of them are way better than the 3rd selection so why wasnt #1 and #2 places were selected?

I hope you compared your apps to winners before reacting

Sure, look to the video presentation at
    http://www.javafx.me/asha-music-studio

    MusicRiffStudio is a music sequencer.
It consists of hundreds instruments (from piano to guitar and flute).
It has access to library of thousands of music examples (from Beethoven to Pink Floyd).
You can create and learn music.
You can exchange your work with friends.

Read user reviews - users love this app. This isn't "beepbeep" toy. This is useful application like FL Studio or GarageBand. You can't find such complex app for featured phones.

I don't understand why Nokia dropped it out from Music & Entertainment category. May be this is mistake.

Nokia Asha doesn't need my app. May be Android & iPhone world will be more friendly.

I can not see how "Sure, look to the video presentation at[...]" is a reply to "I hope you compared your apps to winners before reacting".
I am not related to this competition, but generally speaking a tracker/sequencer application has a small target audience. While coloring birds is something what anyone can pass time with, and that application did not win the competition either after all.

    Any platform needs good application.
I think the reason is different.
Nokia doesn't care about this competition anymore because Microsoft doesn't need nonwindows cheep phones. They even didn't look at the video of MusicRiffStudio and didn't probe it.

At least, it is possible to receive feedback about our entriesa/apps?

b/c many of us spend many hours building our apps for the competition...

    Re: [Moved]Asha Developer Competition Results

Genius: Button Football? Seriously? This game can be created in a weekend, this is what Nokia promotes? I saw the gameplay video of this game on YouTube and laughed for 10 minutes. That's why no serious games are ever gonna be created for Asha Platform. I wasted 4 months of my life to create a compelling game and to update it twice during the competition judgment period. Now I can see that no serious judgment was done after all, meaning that developers are not the priority for Nokia. Guys keep developing, but not for Asha, it's a waste of time.

    Thank you.
