    Gaussian Blur

Does anybody have a reasonably fast Gaussian Blur implementation for WP8? I'm not sure what exactly blur function the Imaging SDK has but it's not it.

    Hi.
You need a fast blur or it must be a gaussian blur?

    Re: Gaussian Blur

I'd read that as: a gaussian blur that works fast with the important part being that it is a gaussian blur (the blur in the Imaging SDK is mentioned as not being suitable due to using another blur function).

Relying solely on its separability may already result in acceptable performance, but you may find other interesting stuff in http://stackoverflow.com/questions/5...within-a-pixel.

Thanks for the link it may come in handy! I'm a little pressed for time at the moment so may just go with the Imaging SDK default blur filter for now.

I need a Gaussian blur that is fast enough to run on 5 MPix images in a reasonable time.

    Re: Gaussian Blur

I found this for C# but they not use the separability of the kernel.

If you really need a Gaussian, it's not really complicate to implement.

If you want a fast blur, you could try to resize the picture to a smaller size and resize it to 5MP.
