    Nokia Store deep links

    Hi,

    I'm encountering some issues in accessing the Nokia Store on a Asha 501 device with some deep links like the following:

    * App link: http://store.nokia.com/content/<content_id>

    * Publisher link: http://store.nokia.com/publisher/<publisher_id>

    In both cases, the Nokia Store client is opened on its home page, rather than on the selected contents.

    I've also tried by using the ".mobi" domain extension, and with the old "ovi.com/mobi" domain, both bringing to the same result.

    Any hints? Am I missing something?

    Thanks,
    Alessandro

    Same here.
    I just updated to Asha Version 1.1.1
    Looks like somebody implemented a "feature" and was not aware what this means to us.

    This is really bad, as the users can also no longer use the PC-Suite to install and rate the software.

    Same experience for me.
    This is very bad, it effects not only app developers but also publishers (imagine that you bought a paid ad to link to one of your apps so users click on the banner and go the store home screen???? and not your app page)

    Same problem also exists for WebApps.

    I have filed a support case. So lets hope we get an official statement.

    Re: Nokia Store deep links

    I got feedback from support!

    It should work when we start the url with "www"

    So our links should look like this:
    Code:
    http: //www.store.ovi.com/publisher/Publisher/
    http: //www.store.ovi.com/content/NNNNNN/comments/add
    http: //www.store.ovi.com/content/NNNNNN
    I have tested the last one successfully on my Asha 501

    Do you mean that the Nokia Store client is opened on your Asha 501, when using the "www."-prefixed URL? On my device, that URL cause the web browser to be opened, instead of the Nokia Store native client.

    Thanks,
    Alessandro

    Re: Nokia Store deep links

    Yes, it opens the web browser.
    But at least it displays my information, and not the information of apps from somebody else...

    Yes, it would be much better when the native client is opened with the right page.

    Re: Nokia Store deep links

    Thank you for the confirmation. Unfortunately this behavior is not optimal to have users leave a review about the app, that is one of the main scenarios when opening the Nokia Store page of a specific app.

    Re: Nokia Store deep links

    Indeed that is not the desired action, the store client app should be open with the correct page of the app/publisher since they cannot add review in the mobile site only within the store app.

    opening the browser with the correct information was always working afaik with the http: //store.ovi.mobi/content/NNNNNN link format
