Thumbs up Disabling cache or temporay stortage during HTTP request.

    HI all,

In my app i ll be making connection to server through HTPP/HTTPs.
Now my question is, No data should be stored either in cache or temp memory.
Is there any way to disable caching or storage in temp memory?

I am not sure that you can control caching from a Midlet. However if you also control the server part, Cache-control is the HTTP header which you may want to set. See 14.9 on http://www.w3.org/Protocols/rfc2616/rfc2616-sec14.html

In past I have faced this Issue, that some servers store - request on its side, if the same request is send again - it responds with cached data instead of checking again in the database/ doing CRUD.

Workaround of above was to - add an extra redundant parameter in your request from devices side - with timestamp, it will make all request unique you will avoid above issue of cached server response.
    thanks,

    1. For the client side caching, you are the one who will be doing this all stuff, don't do this and you are good to go.
    2. For the server side caching that should be so simple, if you (or your company) is holding the serve side then don't cache the http response at all or disable the same from the configurations.

For the client side caching, the best approach would be to receive the cache time in the response from the server and do the caching at the client end as per the time to improve the UX.
    Thanks with Regards,
