Cloud Storage for your app ?

Hi All, I am a lowly developer that doesn't have money to throw away .. I want to develop an app that may be quite heavy (when popular only) on cloud storage ... What are the best options for cloud storage for my app? By best, I obviously mean cheapest, but of course, must be reliable. Can anyone help please? I have looked and see a number of options - but am unsure as to which is the best and if they are offering good value.

Any thoughts from others would be very much appreciated.

    Thank you

    Bill

Given the context of this board (Windows Phone), Azure Mobile Services is certainly something what you want to check, it has free offering, which could be considered as cheap. A good starting is http://developer.nokia.com/Community..._Windows_Phone, and also see the "See Also" articles linked on the right, and of course the Microsoft site too, http://www.windowsazure.com/

As wizard_hu_ said, Azure Mobile Services is a good start
And I "think" there is a good thing here : http://www.telerik.com/products/wind...ddatasync.aspx Telerik Cloud controls for Windows Phone which can help with your needs (please read the description to know more about it).
You can get the Telerik Radcontrols for WP in the Lumia PDP package: check the offer here https://developer.nokia.com/Develope...gram_faq.xhtml

if you really want it to be cheap you can let the user store everything on his skydrive, but then you're limited to what's left of his/her 7GB (if they're only using the free storage)

but I have to agree with the rest, Azure is really the way to go. You can calculate prices here for mobile services (CRUD operations on a database, notifications, ...)
    http://www.windowsazure.com/en-us/pr...cenario=mobile

or if you just want to use storage you can check pricing here

I agree with others here, look at Azure first.

A couple of others are ... www.buddy.com and www.parse.com ... both have basic entry levels.

A bigger list of services to look at is here... http://services.windowsstore.com/

Hi all, many thanks for your replies :-)

I looked at buddy and telerik and skydrive .. all a bit small for the requirements...

Azure does look like the way to go - many thanks for the links - much appreciated ;-)

    Happy coding all -

I think thats a good decision.

If you are an MSDN subscriber you have the option also to have a test account on Azure for free. As you may know, Azure Mobile Services are free but storage is paid. And you need at a very minimum 100mb of storage to have any mobile Services running.
