My jar size is large. Will it affect publishing of my app?

I am working on s40 app and using nokia ide 2.0. My jar size is around 2.8 Mb and i am getting warning : jar size is too large to run on actual device .
But my app is running fine and i m not facing major issues.

Will my app face problems on publishing on nokia store due to this issue.

    Plz advice on this matter.

See the .jar size restrictions on various device models:

    https://developer.nokia.com/Devices/...pecifications/

For different models (different platform versions, different amounts of memory), the allowed .jar size varies greately. If your file size exceeds the size supported by the phone model, then it won't install or run on such models.

Hi petrib, thanks for showing interest.

My app is basically targeting asha 310 series and asha 501 series. I read that for asha 310 the jar limitation is 2 mb. But my app is exceeding it , installing fine and running well with no such performance issues.
So what to do now.. can it cause problems further?

Would probably be better to stay within the official JAR size limit of the devices/platforms, at least if you plan to publish your app on Nokia Store. It's possible that QA enforces the size limit and the app will not pass if the JAR is too large - I remember seeing some posts in the Publishing forum about QA failures due to JAR size.

Anyway, if your application is ready, you could just submit it to QA and see what happens.

Just a reminder, as you probably already know: obfuscation can reduce your jar size.
