    Nokia MixRadio in emulator

    I watched the 36min Video on Nokia Music API on this page (http://developer.nokia.com/Develop/W...is/music.xhtml) and in the video the presenter was testing his app in the emulator which invoked the Nokia Music app to test the SDK.
    However, my emulator doesn't have any of the Nokia apps on there - is there a special version of the emulator that can be used for this purpose?

    I dont have a WP8 phystical device (i'm stuck on a Lumia 800), so have no way of testing the WP8 features without an emulator.

    Thanks

    Re: Nokia MixRadio in emulator

    As Nokia developed the Nokia Music app, they were able to compile the source and deploy it to the simulator.

    One method you could try is to download the XAP from the Windows Phone Store website then deploy it to the simulator?

    Also, before submitting an app to the Windows Phone Store, you should really buy a cheap WP8 device (eg. Lumia 520) and test on that as the WP8 simulator doesn't have the same performance as a real device.

    Yes, we show the Mix Radio app on emulator for our API coding presentations for ease of demonstration, but for security reasons cannot give out the XAP. We have improved the emulator experience recently with web versions of mix playback, artist and product views.

    The Nokia MixRadio API is not available in the current region

    Lately I've been getting the following response from the API:

    The Nokia MixRadio API is not available in the current region

    This is despite the emulator being set to either US or UK (i've tried both to double check). I've tried multiple emulator images on two different machines.

    All I'm doing is:

    var genres = await client.GetGenresAsync();

    Any idea what causes this?

    Merged your thread to the older one. What you see may have more to do with the fact you are testing the code with an emulator than with region settings.

    Just check what the System.Globalization.RegionInfo.CurrentRegion.TwoLetterISORegionName property returns as that's what we use.
