    send command

I have an app which has commands that respond when selected but i have failed to fix the send command so that it can also bring the phone number textfield plus message box.
inotherwords i have failed to integrate the sendcommand in my app to work correctly.
please guide me on this with a sample code.

your question is not so clear but it seems you need to send message or open message editor. Have a look for platformRequest method and that may be of some help to you !!

AFAIK, there is no inbuilt way to access contacts when a textfield is selected. You have to use the PIM api to get the list of contacts and display them on the screen yourself.

    Re: send command

Do you want to send an SMS? With text prepared from your app?

First you need to divide your task in smaller tasks:

    1) get the target phone number and message text

    2) send the sms

You can than test these smaller task independently.

    For problem 1:
You can use a Form with a TextField and use TextField.setConstraint(TextField.PHONENUMBER)
Most phones will automatically insert a command the get the phonenumber from the addressbook.

You can also use the PIM-API to access the phonebook yourself, but this much more work.

For problem 2: look in the Wiki. I remember there was some example code.

    Re: send command

While TextField.setConstraint(TextField.PhoneNumber) does allow only phone numbers to be typed, it is not linking to the phone numbers from the address book since S40 DP 2.0 and higher.

The only way is to use PIM I guess.
