    Nokia store spam

When I see the following stuff as a developer and as a publisher on the Nokia store I get both angry and upset at the same time.
This sort of things only hurt the Nokia store and the confident of users to download apps (and pay for them)

    check out this "publisher" http://store.ovi.com/publisher/littleworld/
and for instance one of his "games" http://store.ovi.com/content/489148 (which is not a game but just a basic web app that will "teach" you about 8pool

then check out this "publisher" http://store.ovi.com/publisher/MR.%20COOOL../
and his "game" http://store.ovi.com/content/489287 which is the same app as the example above that uses the same screenshots and the same description (like most of their "games".

now check out those "publishers" support website
    http://coollllstuff.blogspot.in/
    http://everythingaboutnokia123.blogspot.in/
even the phone numbers in the sites are the same.
Its just spamming the store with useless crap apps that are hoping some poor users will buy them and I'm sure there are even more accounts like this.

Surely something needs to be done by the store team or the QA team.

    Re: Nokia store spam

Not to mention some publisher that publish app with many variant but with almost same functionality.Take example marktech http://store.ovi.com/publisher/MarkTech .He publish hundred of app and most are similiar in function like quote, jokes, receipies and make almost all a paid app.Making matter worst is nokia is insulting real developer by putting some of his app in featured section or even in top 20 in application section.Even an ordinary users would know that almost all of the app is crap so how can it even make to those spot.Nokia store is such in a disgrace state.

Thanks for reporting this, guys. I'm having some internal people take a look. If anyone else has noticed spammy apps like this in the store, please post links in this thread so we can review them.

    Re: Nokia store spam

This "publisher" http://store.ovi.com/publisher/App%20World/ seems to be doing the same thing
3 content items for the same web app, same graphics image, etc
    http://store.ovi.com/content/481725
    http://store.ovi.com/content/460770
    http://store.ovi.com/content/489804
and those content items are not mutually exclusive for different devices because in the reviews there are comments from the same devices.

I'm visiting the Finland office now and was able to talk personally to the person here who is resolving this. Thank you again for reporting this, shai.i and babylongreece. We are taking care of it.

If you have similar feedback in the future, please don't hesitate to update this thread and/or send me a private message.

    Re: Nokia store spam

I also dislike the flood of types of apps linked and mentioned in this thread, but rules should be same for all and enforced on per-application basis. It's not fair to retroactively take down, let's say, 10 recipe or quote applications (all of which have previously passed Nokia Store's QA criteria!) from developer X, just because they have made many using a similar, simple user interface, but leave developer Y's equally crappy ones in the store, as they only have published two or three.

In my opinion, the main problem with these paid "reference" apps is not that they exist, but that it may not be clear to users (from description and screenshots) what they are buying. An easy way to improve the situation somewhat would be requiring at least one of each application's screenshots to show how the app's main functionality actually looks like (currently, many applications have only one screenshot, which shows the splash screen or app logo), and disallow "screenshots" that may confuse the user to eg. think an information webapp is a game.

    Re: Nokia store spam

Did marktech publisher bribe nokia or he got an inside help.In application section,he have at least ten apps get into top30 yet none of the app got any rating which could mean it didn't have download.Somehow many of his app make it to the top in application best seller section. If i count top50 there could be alteast dozens of apps belong to him.

I use nokia store app latest version on nokia n8
