    J2ME Support in X ?

I believe Nokia X will be catching users coming from Asha series so it is not absurd to ask about a possible J2ME support in Nokia X, is not it ?
This way, some asha applications could run on X.

Nokia developers have been pushed by a long technology list (maemo, meego, Qt, C#, Android, J2ME, Symbian C++, Python, QML, Flash....) and several of them are not in use anymore. It is a waste of time when we think about how consistent other very known platforms are and how they have been evolving.

Some relief could be really nice at this point.

Basically the Nokia X supports AOSP 4.1.2, thus anything supported on it, would be also working in Nokia X. Here's one link you could check for getting started on the topic: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3...app-on-android

    Re: J2ME Support in X ?

    Hello Symbianyucca !

That is what I am talking about. We do not have any professional solution for "j2me in android". I do not want a launcher for selecting my j2me app since this j2me app will not be integrated in the Nokia store. It does not make sense to send instructions to the user like "copy jar file inside sd card". So, the feature "support j2me in X" is a little deeper, it is related to nokia store integration, platform looking and feel and seamless execution.

As phoneME (referenced on the same SO page) seems to be open source, it may be possible to use it as a per-Midlet wrapper.

thanks, wizard_hu_. I understand that all you are trying to help but what I am stating is that any of these tools professional. The (great) guy behind phoneMe does not even have an android phone and only limited tests were performed (his words). So, again, we are left to our own fate.

    Hi,

I have tried j2ab before, so it is an adapter for your J2ME code.
    Just share my experience.
However, there is a problem for its performance and you can see a little flicker on screen.
When I change all of my game resource to 480x800 px, I got out of memory exception with that tools.

    Re: J2ME Support in X ?

Very interesting thread, are there any other ways in that some of you have tried to use existing code from Nokia Asha on Nokia X (e.g. reusing the business logic that is pure Java with an AOSP UI)?
