    Gesture for finger down ?

    Ok I may be being stupid - but I can't seem to detect a finger being placed on the screen
    unless its a tap (ie down and up)
    or a movement.

    Theres a drag complete
    but no start.

    ie I want to know when the finger has touched the screen (and where) at the moment it touches (so hold is no good)
    drag only works when you move a bit.

    HELP!

    I guess you'd probably use MouseEvents for this. The following article gives an overview of all the possible options: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/libr...ingmouseevents

    Mouse events ! who knew!!

    brain slightly melting - and hopeful as dealing with the gestures has been, to say the least, painful.

    Yeah, it's oddly named but that's due to WP's UI being based on the Desktop Silverlight APIs.

    actually I can't use mouse events as i'm using monogame and they are not supported on other platforms (cough android)

    so using Touch Panel instead.

    TouchCollection touchCollection = TouchPanel.GetState();
    foreach (TouchLocation tl in touchCollection)
    {
    if (tl.State == TouchLocationState.Pressed)

    Thx for the info, didn't know it was about game development and I have to admit - I know next to nothing about XNA/Monogame/DirectX development.
