    MixRadio 3.3 and AnyCpu / Microsoft.Bcl.Compression

I've just updated my WP8 app to use the latest MixRadio 3.3 package through NuGet. Seems like the new MixRadio library version added the dependency to Microsoft.Bcl.Compression, which does not work if the WP8 app is set to AnyCPU. The need to compile platform-specifically when using that library is also documented here: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/dotnet/archi...ow-stable.aspx

Is that dependency really required? I'd prefer to stay with AnyCPU as there is no need for architecture specific compilation in the rest of the app, and the MixRadio integration is just a small feature within the overall app.

    Thanks!
    Andreas

    Hi Andreas,
I think having GZip for most people is a good feature, but yes that's a bit of a pain isn't it?
The good news is that reference is optional and the HttpClient will work if the DLL is not there. What you need to do is unload the project and edit the CSProj file to remove all "Compression" things - there will be the reference AND the targets that give you the error you mentioned.
I've just tried this and the API calls still work.
    Cheers,
    Steve

Had the same issue earlier today. Glad I found this thread. It was easier to just remove the MixRadio reference, but I'll keep an eye on this to see when the NuGet package is updated.

I don't see any Compression related things. Where should I be looking exactly?
