Is remote triggering of SyncML sessions possible ?

    Hi,

As I understand, SyncML settings for a handset can be set by an OTA message.
This suggests the possibility that OTA messages could also be used to trigger synchronisation sessions.

Can sync sessions be triggered by a remote server (i.e. by using an SMS OTA message or by a WAP push), or with current handset models do sync sessions always need to be started manually through the user-interface ?

    Thanks very much,

    Hi!

The session needs to be initated manually. Current implementation of SyncML clients does not support eny other method.

    Hello,

    Is this information still valid?
Or are there Nokia phones available today that support server alerted sync?

    Thanx

Possible and called SAS (Server Alerted Sync).
You have to wait some time until the first phones with this functionality will arrive to the market. I'm not sure who will be the first, Nokia or others.

I think that the SonyEricsson K700 will be the first device to support SAS. Anyone at Nokia know what the first Nokia device will be & when it may arrive?
