    http connection solved!!!

    Hi all,

The last week i've been having some serious trouble getting my mobile to perform a http connection so that i might read some data from a url. Anyway this is more to help anyone that comes across the same problem in the future rather than a question. I have a nokia 7650 and i'm on the o2 network. The reason i say this is because in order to get ur midlet to connect to a url you first have to web enable your sim. You can do this by simply emailing o2.

The second part of my problem was for some reason my midlet would simply not connect, it would simply freeze as soon as it attempted to make a connection. The reason... the connection code MUST BE RUN IN A SEPERATE THREAD! I'd seen alot of people post this suggestion but noone saying yes that worked so here it is!. I dont know why the code must be run in a seperate thread, to be honest my code is virtually textbook and it doesnt use any threads and my application is performing no other operations so i'm not quite sure why. In any case it works, so if anyone comes accross a similar problem in the future hopefully this will help.

    Hi there,
we're bogged down in a very similar situation.

    nokia 7650 (v 3.12 18/6/2002)

connecting (http get) to a servlet running in an apachetomcat 4.02. appserver.

After moving the code which open and read from the connection in a different thread we notice the connection takes place
but then the 7650 complains with "http header mismatch" or "status=-3" (operation cancelled)
    or eventually freezes.

Can you provide this forum with a working example of your suggested solution ?

    many thanks.
    Simone.

But the header mismatch is because of the comma (,) as decimal delimiter instead of a point. Just set your mobile phone to english, then it should work. See also the knowledge base
