    Java applet enabled?

    Hi experts,

I am new to Nokia 6610 Java development.

Does Nokia 6610 support Java Applet like on internet web? I tried browsing .htm file with a Java Applet in it, but the area for Java applet won't even display.

I tried to upload the files (.jad and .jar) and tried to connect to that .jad file with Nokia 6610, but the response I got was "Unknown file type". Is there something I have done wrong or it doesn't work that way? When I test that .jad and .jar on the Nokia simulator it worked fine.

:P Sorry if the question I asked here is too rookie. Thanks for the time to read and reply. Perhaps one of you experts can forward me few links to have more studies?

No. Java enabled phones can run applications called MIDlets. These are not the same as applets. They are developed using a profile called MIDP, which is part of J2ME.
    Here's a few links:

If the jar is really an applet then this is certainly strange.
