On 3650 which supports Mobile Media API (JSR 135) it is possible to play Midi files. Look at the MMAPI example in the Java section.

i think Nokia UI API support WAV file only, does not support midi file, so, midp 1.0 cannot play midi file :|

    sorry for wasting ur time

I think with the nokia api you can play .ott files. The Nokia Suite has a application that converts mid into ott.

if u want to convert midi file into "byte" format, please use Nokia Developer Suite for J2ME. There is a column "audio convertor" which u can convert all u midi file into either OTA, BYTE, RINGING TONE XML format. After converting all ur file, u can simply save it as a java file. But , this is only supported by the Nokia UI API.
    Have fun with it!
