    Debugging using Jbuilder9 Personal

Is it possible to run a debug session using Jbuilder9 personal and either the 7210 or 5100 emulator? I cannot see any way of getting debugging going under JBuilder to enable debugging - I can however emulate with debugging fine with both emulators. Any help here would be appreciated.

I do debugging with 7210 and JBuilder every day. I use not Personal version currently, but I used Personal earlier.

Unfortunately, I don't remember all the hints how to make Personal suitable for debugging. Hope hints for more serious version will also help:

    1. Set up 7210 JDK for the current project
    2. Compile project and create Jar Archive
    3. In projects run configurations set up JAD file as running target

    4. Start debugging as debugging stanalone java app

    P.S.
In Personal version you'll have to create JAR manually using complex command lines or SUN's WTK. If using WTK, it's tricky to set up directories so, that WTK would find them. Basically you'll have to put your project under WTK directory structure.

Thanks, but I am still having trouble - The IDE always attempts to launch javaw as the runtime rather than the emulator I want to run. Any more advice?

Are you sure, you installed MobileSet?
Looks like you forgot about it

    Hi, friends:

I encounter a serios problem when debug. When I start a Jbuilder debug session to examine my j2me codes. the application stops at the breakpoint, but the highlight bar alweys points to the class name in a class file. As I use step into or step over, the highlight bar is still on the class name but the execuate point moves on. So I'm unable to know which line of code the application will run.

I have use different enviroments to solve the problem and get the same problem. These eviroments are:

    1. JBuilder8 Personal Edition+MobileSet3.1+NDS1.1
    2. Jbuilder9 Enterprise Edition+MobileSet3.1+NDS2.0

I even use different JDKs and Emulators like:

    Nokia 6310i MIDP SDK+6310i Emulator
    Nokia 7210 MIDP SDK+7210 Emulator
    J2MEWTK1.0.4+DefaultColorPhone

And I start debug session by right-click jad file and select "micro debug"

I use laptop with win2000 prefessonal installed

Have anybody encounter the same problem and solve it?
