JAD File Size Limit wit OTA Download

Are the JAD file size limit any different on 7210 with OTA download? I have a JAD file of 4.87 KB and it works well when IRed to the phone. But, when attempting OTA, it complains "File too large".

How about the JAR file? Is it still 63.7 KB?

Yep, your JAR should be less-sized.
It's rather known thing. Unfortunately I have no idea what's the maximal size. I always considered 63k +some bytes being safe enough.

However I never had that big JAD files. There was an idea on this forum, that total JAD+JAR size should be 64Kb

Is there a definate answer from Nokia on this?

I have known that the Carriers' gateways impose JAR and JAD size limitations. Why the limitations are different than normal application load on a device? As far as my experience goes, the JAR file is accepted upto 63.7 KB and JAD file is acceptable upto 4.9 KB.

    New insights?

    Hi,

are there any new insights on this?

Is the file size limit of 4,9 kb for the JAD file still existent?

Can I find the info on an official site somewhere?

How about the JAR size? What would be appropiate to fit the carriers'/devices' needs? 200 kb?

    Thanks,
    vb
