Mobile which supports Datagram Connection in J2ME

    hello
I'm developing an J2ME application which needs to do a Datagram Connection.

Up to now, I've tried to make it with the Nokia 7650 and I get the following exception:

    java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.symbian.midp.io.protocol.datagram.Protocol

Which Mobile supports DatagramConnection in J2ME?

    Thanks in advance

No Nokia phones (except possibly the 3510i?) support DatagramConnection. Try handsets like the Sanyo 8100 and 5300, Samsung A500 and N400, LG LX5550, or Motorola V300.

If you wait until the end of the month, the Nokia 6600 and Motorola V600 are due, both of which are alleged to support DatagramConnection and have generally non-crippled networking.

    How'd you think?

Well, actually Nokia could lisence the Platform to other manufacturers, but I have big doubts that she did it
Ask on these manufacturers sites, have a look at their SDKs.

As far as I know none of those are Symbian phones. But if you're programming in Java, surely what OS the phone runs is relatively unimportant?

If you want java-accessible datagrams on a series 60 phone, I think that you'll have to wait for the 6600 or for Motorola's upcoming Series 60 phone. It is possible that the Ericsson P800 also supports datagrams (I have heard both answers, and don't have one to test); it is a Symbian (but not Series 60?) phone/PDA hybrid.

(My company recently gave up on Java as a hopelessly crippled development environment, but we're hoping to return to Java as soon as a phone provides the APIs we need. So I'm interested in anything anyone discovers about the APIs of existing or upcoming phones.)
