BLDMAKE doesn't work for downloaded source!

I am using Visual C++ 6.0 with Nokia Series 60 SDK. The examples which come with the SDK, all compile without a hitch. But any source that I download from the web always complains about the missing EPOCROOT variable during the "bldmake bldfiles" step. The following error is shown :

ERROR: EPOCROOT must specify an existing directory
    BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at C:\SYMBIAN\6.1\SHARED\EPOC32\TOOLS\/E32env.
    pm line 39.
    BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at C:\Symbian\6.1\Shared\epoc32\tools/bldmake.
    pl line 31.

I have checked the environment and EPOCROOT is set correctly. The compiler setup is also fine as the SDK examples and my personal projects are getting compiled. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

Do you have the downloaded sources somewhere on the same drive as the SDK (c: )?

No, I didn't. And as soon as I shifted them, they worked! Thanks a lot, Lauri.
