I am researching different ways of testing wireless devices. In particular, I am looking into a way of monitoring a WAP portal 24/7 using a physical wireless device instead of a software -based tool/emulator. The basic set-up will comprise the following:
Wireless device, e.g. Nokia 6210
Nokia Phone Card (within suitable spec PC)
A testing script
The testing script will interface with the device firmware, instructing the device to request specific URLs - Is this possible?
The Monitoring software will communicate with the testing script and flag error messages as and when they arise, in addition to reporting the current status/availability of the portal.
Is this idea feasible?
