    Emulator response time (Series 60 MIDP Concept Beta 0.3.1 )

    Hi Friends,

    I am developing a game.In that I have a Screen command Start.

    On selecting this command, I draw a Square by translating the graphics context on an already painted canvas with the help of a another class Square & its method paintSquare(Grafphics g);

    After selecting that command for a minute or so no change occurs on my canvas.But when I minimize the Emulator window & once again maximize it (in short refresh the emulator window), I can see the required square on the Canvas.

    Why should it happen so?
    Can I improve emulator response time? If yes how?
    Do I need more RAM?
    Do I need a better processor?

    Thanking you,

    Yashodhan

    It probably simply doesn't do a paint().... Minimizing and maximizing always enforces a repaint, just like normal J2SE I guess...

    Perhaps your event thread got stuck, perhaps you actually don't paint anything or perhaps you can try to enforce a repaint by adding serviceRepaints().

    Thanks!

    Hi Danny,

    Exactly, I was not repainting the Canvas.
    I added a repiant() method with clipping.
    It worked for me.

    Thank you very much!!
