    Run time memory for midlets

    I run the following on Nokia G-NAGE and 3300 :

    Runtime.getRuntime().totalMemory()

    and got the following reluts :

    GNAGE = 69632
    3300 = 217088

    is this it?

    totalMemory() returns the total amount of heap space available to the KVM. On Series 60 devices this memory seems to be dynamically allocated, and more memory becomes available when necessary, so this method can't be trusted. At first the KVM get a little bit of heap space (that's why you got 69632), but if you go ahead and create big objects that take up a lot of memory you'll see that this figure will grow.
    This is not an official response or anything, but it is what I have noticed from my experience.

    I see many questions over this
    why don't one of the "Nokia officials"
    give a list of phones and its sizes?
