    Connectivity failures in C++

    Hi All,

    I am experiencing extreme difficulty in using the PC Connectivity SDK v3.0.

    I have an app in C++ to communicate via the Infra Red port.
    Passive information via the STTNGS3A_SLib::IPhoneInfo and NokiaCLSettings::IPhoneInfo4 interfaces, (eg, OS version, HW Version, phone type, Clock time, etc), all work OK.

    However, whenever I try to do anything that is service related, I consistently fail.
    Some of the interfaces include:
    STTNGS3A_SLib::IPhoneStatus
    - GetServState()
    NokiaCLSettings::ISMSSend
    - GetGSMOperatorCode()
    - GetName()

    For all of the above, I can get the interface OK, but as soon as I call a function, the app waits for several seconds, before I get a com error: 7689, (ErrCommunicationError - Communication error between the device and the PC.)

    Can anyone offer some advice? Am I missing something obvious that I need to call before I delve into the above functions?

    Phone details:
    NOKIA 6310i
    OS ver 5.10

    Any advice welcome,
    Graeme Townsend

    That's an easy one!

    You have to use the "Extensive Component Library" when working with newer phones like the 6310i. Parts of the old library may still work as you've seen. Change it and you're done.

    Hi Zamba,

    Thanks for the reply,

    I thought
    NokiaCLSettings::ISMSSend
    - GetGSMOperatorCode()
    - GetName()

    Was part of the "Extensive Component Library"? Or do I need to use Extensive Component Library exclusively?

    I have also tried using

    NokiaCLSettings::INetwork4
    - GetSignalLevel()
    - GetRegInfo()

    with the same error occuring.

    Regards,

    Oh yes, sorry, I overlooked that.
    Of course NokiaCLSettings is part if the ex library. Using the ex library exclusively is a good starter, try it. If that doesn't solve it, hm ... don't know in this case.
