how to have a name instead of phonenumber

    hello sir,

i have developed a application in which i can send sms to mobiles using at commands.
i want to know which at command to use, so that when i send a message to a mobile, the mobile which receives the message should display my name in the inbox instead of my phonenumber, eventhough my name is not present in the phonebook.
for ex: when spice operator sends me message , it will show the message is from spice not 555.
    can i achieve this ?
if yes please do tell me.
i hope i am clear to u....if not please tell me..

    thanks in advance.

    regards,

i think this will involve reading the originator address from the SMS header and using this as a key intop the address book?

Is this what you are trying to do ?

    hello sir,

what i am trying to clarify is if u send a message to a person who does not have ur phonenumber stored in his phonebook, then he will view the message in his inbox as a message from a phone number(ur phone number), instead of that can we use some ATcommands to have ur name displayed instead of ur phone number.
i hope i am clear to u now...

i did not understand what u told me.
    anyway thanks.

    regards,

    Hi,

I don't think it's possible with the AT commands. With CIMD it is
possible and this feature is called Alphanumeric Originator Address. The feature is supported only from application originated to mobile terminated messages.

    Best regards
