    Problems with CS Help

I'm experiencing trouble using the Context Sensitive Help which is so nicely explained in the SDK documentation. When trying to preview or build any of the example projects using the CS Help Compiler GUI I get and error dialog saying "... (Being failed--compilation aborted at C:\Symbian\6.1\Shared\eopc32\tools/cshlpcmp.pl line 56.)". Using only the command line tool cshlpcmp.pl I get a bunch of error messages:
Bareword found where operator expected at:
    C:/...*somedirectories*.../params.pm line 460,
    near "NewCParamItem"
    .
    .
    .
    BEGIN failed...
Could someone explain this or give me simple instrcutions on creating a basic help file for my application?

Half of the files mentioned in the SDK documentation on CS Help seem to be missing by the way...

    I use the following:

    Symbian 6.1 SDK
    ActivePerl 5.8.0 Build 806

    Cheers,

hi! we've had the same problem. seems to be an incompatibility of the series60 sdk 1.2 tools and active state perl 5.8(.0)

try to downgrade active state perl to 5.6(.1) available from http://www.activestate.com/

This solved my problem (and saved my day)! Thank you very much edmund.k!

I really hope getting my application to show the help file will be much easier...

we've found and used two essential sources on the net to get our app showing context sensitive help. the series60 sdk 1.2 documentation is somewhat 'sparsely populated' in this field ;)
