I have not found any method to check if the bluetooth is activated in the phone menus, however, I have found that if you use the RNotifier method as described in Nokias point-to-point example, the user will get a question to activate bluetooth.

I have also found that if you do not use the RNotifier method (I guess that the new point-to-multipoint example does this) you can actually connect using bluetooth even if the phone menu states that bluetooth is off.

I have not found any way to control the bluetooth icon in that case, but you can use the RNotifier with KPowerModeSettingNotifierUid (0x100059E2) as argument, you can get the same "Turn bluetooth on" query and this will also activate the bluetooth activity icon.

    Hope this helps!
