    Default input mode "abc"

    Hi,

is it possible to tell the mobile phone/app that entered text should be in input mode "abc"? It's not very user friendly if he has to change input mode each time he wants to enter a word. I do not want exclude "ABC" but per default "abc" should be used.

    Many thanks,
    Heike

    Hello Diplm,

use TextField.setInitialInputMode(String) for that purpose. Beware, it's MIDP/2.0 only...

    Hi Robert,

which String did you use? I tried with "MIDP_LOWERCASE_LATIN". but the nokia emulator shuts down if I try to open the screen which contains the textfield, Sun's WTK offers the user afterwards only to choose between "abc" and "123", but I don't want to absolutely exclude "ABC" just set the default to "abc". Did I do sth wrong or is this a problem of emulators?

    Thanks,
    Heike
