    Socket programming

    Hi,

I am new to socket programming and wondering if anyone has written a bare
minimum connect/read/write socket program in Symbian. The Socket example
seems to be too complicated... sort of over engineered.

Could some one post a code snippet for a bare minimum socket example.

    Thanks,

    Ash

it is basically almost the minimal that you need if you want to make usable socket connection.

Anyway, you could skip one step there by using ConnectL(TUint32 aAddr) directly without resolving the IP address.

The Scoket example does not work correctly.

Establish a connection. Disconnect GPRS using red button.

    Issue A disconnect command.

    Failed

    Issue A connect command.

    Failed

Open internet connection with other application.

    Issue a connect command.

    Failed.

Could you be a little bit more descriptive?
What does it mean "failed"? It seems to me that if you disconnect gprs it is clear that any socket operations must fail...
    Is there any error code?
