    Physical Security for Applications

Does anyone know how applications are stored in the flash memory of the mobile device. I am trying to find out how secure an application is once distributed OTA. What is to stop someone removing the flash memory chip physically, reading the contents and then copying the application? Is there any secure storage area other than the SIM?

If anyone has information or pointers I would be very grateful.

try looking into Symbian..it lets u store things on the phone's memory and u can set password etc on the same.in yur application u can have functions that check the phone settings like imei number and on the basis of that there is a one time activation concept inbuilt into it..hope that helps.
