    SIP Stack & NAT

I am trying to register to a SIP proxy that is behind NAT. When proxy modifies the contact header of the REGISTER message to
register the address of the NAT rather than the UA's private IP-address behind the NAT, the SIP stack ignores the returned 200 OK message and doesn't inform my application at all.

I tried the same thing with e.g. "SJPhone" and everything worked well...

So, my question is that is it possible to configure the SIP stack so that it accepts these responses which have contact-header modified, or is there any other solution to my problem?

    Has anyone had similar problems?

    Thanks in advance,

yeah, that is the problem with SIP protocol and common access to the internet through GPRS (usually behind some NAT). The only solution as far as I know is to make your provider to support this SIP thingy in the proxy... Of course there can be some way, like some kind of tunnel, but for that you would also need entry points on both sides of the proxy...:-(

So, I don't think there is a way around it from the client point of view.
