    Error while compiling from command prompt

    Hi i am new to Symbian. I am using VC6 as my ID. I downloaded series 60 sdk named series 60 sdk for microsoft and borland. The installation was succesful.

    Now i am trying to compile and link the helloworld example from command prompt. using abld make file vc6 which should have created .dsp and .dsw files but it is showing
    error

    LINK.EXE is not a recognised as an internal or an external command.

    What could be the problem. Have i downloaded the wrong sdk which support only Microsoft.net. Please help.

    Thanx in advance.

    I guess that is because the bin directory for ur MS Visual Studio is not present in ur PATH env variable.

    Hi path variable shows the following

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symbian\Tools;C:\Perl\bin\;C:\Perl\bin;%SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem;

    Do i have to explicitly set the path variable. Please tell??

    You can also run VCVARS32.BAT script to set your environment variables. You'll find it under C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\VC98\Bin.
