Problem with my 6600 - help please!

    Hi,

I have had various problems with my 6600, but they used to disappear after a day or so; or just occurred the once.

But now I have a problem with the menu and the left select keys - both dont seem to work properly; and only work when they please. This problem has been getting steadily worse for the last month.

It cant be a hardware fault, as the buttons do work when they want to, and I dont have to press them all that hard for them to do so.

I did email nokia support, but they still havent replied after a month.

    Your help is greatly appreciated!

    Thanks

Sounds like a hardware problem (dirt or moisture or both, probably). Have a Nokia service center take a look at it.

It still may be hardware related if the internal contacts are slowly giving way (i.e. it would work intermittently).

If you can't return it to your place of purchase for a replacement then, yes, a certified Nokia service station would be needed.

Whatever you do - backup everything first!!

    Thanks for your help.

I have saved everything on my memory card, except my contacts - how do I backup my contacts to my memory card?

    Cheers

Use the "Memory" app (Options -> Backup).

Note, however, the memory card backup can only be restored on another 6600 reliably (no other phone).

You can also use an app such as Contacts Manager:
