Emulator: Can't find class file. Error

    Hi everybody!

I installed the Nokia Developer Suite 2.2 and the emulator for the Nokia 9500 phone, the MIDP Series80 1.0Beta.

I want to use the eclipse IDE for developement, but the plugin is not working. Everytime I run/debug a Midlet, I get the following output:

    Emulator: Can't find class file.
    Emulator: Can't find class file.
    Emulator: Can't find class file.
    Emulator: Failed to run emulator.

Did I forget to set any PATH variables?
When I use the standalone IDE from Nokia it's also not working.

    Thanks!

    Hi geri-m,

nope, I havn't found any solution for this problem. But I havn't tried too hard, because the emulator of the series80 just caused too many problems for my nerves and freezed often my system.

So now I use eclispe + the eclipseME plugin and use the Sun Wireless toolkit emulators for development. Form time to time I create a dist jad file and run this on a Nokia 9500 device.

Not really the best way ;-)

Re: Emulator: Can't find class file. Error

I had the same problem using a "run" profile in eclipse:

It's important to specify the full package name when defining the main class that the application starts in.

    ex:

yes, ofcourse your class should be placed in the default package, which does not belong to any package

Re: Emulator: Can't find class file. Error

    Hi,

I am quite new to J2ME development - I am experiencing the same problem. Can you clarify what you mean by saying:

"ofcourse your class should be placed in the default package, which does not belong to any package" ?

My package is "pcamobile.shoot" and the class name is "shoot". What exactly is the default package?

Can you confirm this is working for you? Do I need a specific version of NDS to be able to debug and run?

    BR,

Make sure you midlets jad is pointing to class with complete package prefix..

    eg.

    MIDlet-1: TilePuzzle, /icons/TilePuzzle.png, example.tilepuzzle.TilePuzzle
