    RHTTPSession nerver timed out

    Hi all,

I am able to successfully perform HTTP Post operation and get the response from the IAP.
but sometimes it kept connecting for ages, nerver time out.
sometimes it took about 30 minutes to timed out.

I 'd like to set RHTTPSession time out, says 1 minute, like setTimeout(ms) in java socket.
I 've been trying to do that but i don't have any luck and can not find any docs about that.

    Appreciate your suggestion.

    Re: RHTTPSession nerver timed out

    *bump*

I know it is an old thread, but I'm interested in the same question.

My application may frequently issue requests to the server that may be unreachable, however I don't want to complicate the implementation with additional timers and wonder if there is a way to specify a timeout value for RHTTPSession directly.

Not entirely sure WRT setting timeout, but if you do end up implementing your own timer, bear this problem in mind: https://developer.uiq.com/forum/clic...messageID=3873
    (same problem on S60).

I am pretty sure there is no built in timeout. I wrote my own.
To get round the problem of the canceling the transaction you could try closing the session. I have done this successfully and not found any problems.

Thumbs up Re: RHTTPSession nerver timed out

    Hi,

Even i used an RTimer to implement the functionality.
RHTTPSession or RHTTPTransaction does not provide such a functionality.
I also checked the code , so you can be assured of the same.
