    Player limitations on 6600

    Hi,

Is there a doc describing any limitations on the 6600 with the Player type? I'm finding that when I add more and more sound to my app, some do not come out on the real device, even though they work in the emulator. Is there a limit to the amount of memory given to the Player. Or is there a limit to the number of different Player instances that can co-exist?

    Thanks

You cannot have more than one sound playing at the same time in 6600 (and other s60 devices) using MMA.

I noticed that you can have only 6 players PREFETCHED at the same time ...

I don't believe that there's a memory limmitation. The sounds live in the video memory, not in the heap.

I managed to have 7 players PREFETCHED at the same time ... but this is only possible if I don't destroy a player beforehand ...

If you want to load and destroy sounds as you need them ... I believe 6 is the maximum number of PREFETCHED players you should count on. ...

If somebody else has found another solution, please share it.

    Many thanx,
