    RE: SyncML & compatible phones

    Hello,

I've checked it and I'm fairly sure in stating that currently only Nokia 9200 Communicator series support SyncML.

    RE: SyncML & compatible phones

Is this some kind of a joke? This is supposed to be the new standard for synchronizing between phones and computers. And nokia can't even do it in one other phone except the communicators?
    Why is that?
When will there be other phones like the 6510 / 6310i that support SyncML?

According to the homepage of the official standardization organiztion for SyncML, www.SyncML.com , 7650 is also compliant with the SyncML-standard

Is there a chance that the 6310 will become SyncML capable with a software upgrade?

    RE: SyncML & compatible phones

Should we start a petition for Bluetooth-savvy phones that are not yet SyncML-capable? Is there anyone that knows of a useful official email address that we could advertise to the mass?

ISync does not use SyncML.. at least current version. There is no devices on the market with support for Local sync using SyncML.
If you are looking for SyncML service supporting 7650, try this - www.mightyphone.com.

    Good Luck!

    RE: SyncML & compatible phones

Nokia's support for getting stuff off their phones (phonebook etc.) has always been a joke.

I'm sick of it - and I can't see any improvement in any of the forthcoming phones.

I'm (with great regret) switching to SonyEricsson.

You can even try yourself installing a SyncML server. Try out Sync4j, an open source java based SyncML server hosted at sourceforge. Check it out at sync4j.funambol.com.

There are some Nokia Mobiles which support OTA SyncML Sync.
But what about local Sync over Bluetoothor other local transports? Which Mobiles support that type?
