    Etelmm.h

    got the ETELMM.H file .
    how do I use it ?
    lets say I want to "see" the available operators and choose one of them (like it can be done in the network settings) ,
    what methods do I use ?
    what parameters ?

    Thanks , TE

    are you sure that it is not going to be supported.

    At least i have used ETELMM succesfully with 6630 (which is already OS 8.0a phone).

    Hi Yucca

    No , I'm not sure ,
    someone wrote (I cant find the place) that it is not recommended to use etelmm because Telephony is going to be not supported in future versions :
    * I dont know if its true !
    * I dont know exactly what it means if Telephony will not be supported because I'm not yet familiar with this issue.

    I think I will try to use the etelmm anyway ...

    please advise

    Hi
    I found this code example of getting network data.
    this code uses the etelmm.h.
    I dont know how to initiate and use the followings :
    iReqStatus ,
    iNetworkInfoPckg .
    iArea .
    iCellId

    please advise , I cant find any documentation about this ...

    Code:
    void CPhoneInfo::GetNetWorkInfoL()
    {
    	RMobilePhone phone;
    	RTelServer::TPhoneInfo info;

    	User::LeaveIfError(iServer.GetPhoneInfo(0, info));
    	User::LeaveIfError(phone.Open(iServer, info.iName));

    	phone.GetCurrentNetwork(iReqStatus, iNetworkInfoPckg, iArea);
    	User::WaitForRequest(iReqStatus);
    	iCellId = iArea.iCellId;
    	phone.Close();
    }

    I think the following code works....i haven't yet tested...

    RTelServer iServer;
    _LIT(KTsyName, "phonetsy.tsy");
    iServer.LoadPhoneModule( KTsyName );
    iServer.Connect();

    RMobilePhone::TMobilePhoneNetworkInfoV1 iNetworkInfo;
    RMobilePhone::TMobilePhoneNetworkInfoV1Pckg iNetworkInfoPkg(iNetworkInfo);
    RMobilePhone::TMobilePhoneLocationAreaV1 iLocationInfo;

    TRequestStatus & iReqStatus=KErrNone;
    RMobilePhone phone;
    RTelServer::TPhoneInfo info;
    User::LeaveIfError(iServer.GetPhoneInfo(0, info));
    User::LeaveIfError(phone.Open(iServer, info.iName));
    phone.GetCurrentNetwork(iReqStatus, iNetworkInfoPkg, iLocationInfo);
    User::WaitForRequest(iReqStatus);
    if(iReqStatus == KErrNone)
    {
    TBuf<256> iNetworkName;
    TUint cellid;
    iNetworkName.Copy(iNetworkInfo().iShortName);
    cellid = iLocationInfo.iCellId;

    etelmm.h and .lib for Series 80

    Hi,

    Does anyone know where to get the official version of etelmm.h and etelmm.lib for the Series 80 platform?

    Not the cut-down version, but the full version.

    I have older copies of these files from some random earlier Symbian series 60 platform, and I can get a test application to compile and link using them.

    So now I'm sure that these are the files I need. But I'm not sure where to get the official versions.

    Are these files compatible accross all versions of Symbian OS 7.0s? (i.e. Series 60 and series 80).

    Any help or info would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,
    --Rickr

    Re: Etelmm.h

    can anyone tell me in which directory i have to copy etelmm.lib and etelmm.h.
    because i allways get an error if i compile my programm with VC6.

    Doing first-stage link by name
    NMAKE : fatal error U1073: don't know how to make '"\Symbian\8.0a\S60_2nd_FP2\EPOC32\RELEASE\WINS\UDEB\ETELMM.LIB"'

    I've included etelmm.h, inserted etelmm.lib in the mmp file.
    further i copied etelmm.lib to epoc32\release\armi\urel, \thumb\urel and
    winscw\udeb

    please help

    As it can be seen there is no version of the library for the VC6 emulator.
    So if possible install the codewarrior version of the sdk and paste the libs and it would work fine.
