    Unhappy nokia.com.mid.sound.* package sound too weak

    I am very new to J2ME please help.
    What I am trying to do is to write a alarm clock type of application that will work on all the java supported Nokia phone. Since it has to work on the elder phone, I use midp 1.0 + the nokia.com.mid.sound package for the sound output. I don't need to alarm to be fancy but it should be bright and loud.

    What I found it the sample tone that is generated by my code is so weak compare to the ringtone that is built in to the phone.

    my tone is very simple;
    2400hz for 200ms
    0 for 200ms
    800hz for 200ms and repeat....

    can somebody tell me why? Thanks in advance.

    please help.

    for Midp 1.0 + nokia.com.mid.sound.*, the only way to play music is to use these commands?

    sound = new Sound(0, 1L);
    sound.init(frequency, 2000L);
    sound.play(1);
    sound.stop();

    or there are other ways?

    Thanks.
