    Anybody able to do AMR recording?

    I am trying to record audio in AMR format on Nokia 3650, which then I send over network. Though am able to record in a file (TMdaFileClipLocation). But I need to record it in buffer (TMdaDesClipLocation), so that I don't have to read it from file to send over network. I get MediaServer error when i tryto open AudioRecorderUtility with a descriptor.

    Is anybody able to record audio in AMR format in descriptor?

    Is it possible to do AMR recording on Nokia 6600/6620/6630? I am not able to record for AMR codec, but they allow wav recording (both TMdaPcmWavCodec and TMdaMulawWavCodec). Both these codecs requires big buffer. Is there any other codec (GSM) supported in these phones if not AMR.

    Need to find out what all phones supports AMR recording.

    Thnx

    I do not know if CMdaAudioRecorderUtility supports that, but streaming certainly does. There is even a complete example: Docs on the top, Documentation, Symbian C++, Multimedia.

    Re: Anybody able to do AMR recording?

    Hi,

    any one pls tell me is it possible to record in amr format or convert to amr format...

    currently i am recording in wave format( size of the file is huge) . i want to record in amr format( compressed format to reduce file size) or convert to amr format (not only amr format, any compressed format).

    Target device is: N82 and N96

    and one more

    iRecorderUtility = CMdaAudioRecorderUtility::NewL(*this, 0, 80,(TMdaPriorityPreference) 0x5210001);
    TRAPD(err ,iRecorderUtility->GetSupportedDestinationDataTypesL(iSupportedDataTypes));
    //// this one is throwing error with error code : not supported

    How do i get the supported format?

    pls any one help me....

    Thanks in advance
    Regards,
    Gobi
