    linker problem(initialised data)

    hi,
    i run the bluetooth point to point example successfully in winscw type in

    emulator.when i tried to make for the target by selecting THUMUREL and make the

    project it is giving the linker error as follows.

    Link Error : Dll 'BTPOINTTOPOINT[10005B8B].APP' has initialised data.
    Link Error : Command failed with result = 0
    Link Error : Link failed
    what could be the problem.please help me out to solve this problem

    Mani,

    Please tell me what SDK you are using, and what version of CodeWarrior.

    It would also be helpful to know if you get this error if you build from the command line, or if it only occurs when you build from inside CodeWarrior.

    there are just propably some non-static data defined outside class declarations, at least has been the most usual reason when ever I have had this error popping up.

    cw ver 2.8

    hi,

    i am using codewarrrior for symbianOS,oem edition,V2.8,

    Series 60 SDK 2.1 for Symbian OS Supporting Metrowerks CodeWarrior for Symbian OS

    CodeWarrior IDE Version 5.5.1.1426b.i am building the application inside the codewarrior only.when i give MAKE from project menu it is giving linker error.i didi'nt try building from command line

    As yucca said, it have most probably nothing to do with your environment, but with writable data outside of class. Try to find yourapplication.map file and inside it section .data, .bss you might be able figure out what data are causing the problems.
