Changing J2ME access point on 7270

    Hi,

I am developing a new application for J2ME MIDP 2 Nokia phones. I need to find a way to make the JRE on my phone use a different access point.

My application uses socket connections and HTTP connections.

The application works on Series 60 phones. I tested using the 6600. If I choose the 'Internet' access point 'O2 Mobile Web'.

The same application will not run on my Series 40 Nokia 7270. Whenever it comes to make a socket connection a message appears 'Service Setting: O2 WAP GPRS'.

I know that WAP gateways often restrict access to various ports. But an Internet access point will allow access to all ports.

The 7270 phone has the Internet Gateway data. If I check the GPRS settings the correct APN is there to use the phone as a modem.

Is there any way to make the java applications use this APN?

    Thanks for your help

I know it's o9ld, but did you sort this out. I have just made a similar post, and I have seen exactly the problem you have (and no solution yet)

    Thanks
