Correct encoding format for wav files

Do some of you guys know the good encoding for wav files ?

    Something like PCM / 8khz / Mono ?

I'm playing it back using a 6260 in case it matters ...

    Regards,
    Xavier

Re: Correct encoding format for wav files

I'm playing wav sounds in my app. While playing on nokia 6680 or 6630, some of them have some sort of noise/humming at the end (as if there is a problem with the speakers). When I play the sound on my computer, it sounds clear, no noise.

What could be the reason of this noise?
Is there some sort of standard or some special format required for wav sounds for mobiles? May be tone range limitation?

Well ,When I am dealing with PCM Codec i got the same problem. This was because of some variables when used in ProcessL in the Codec which have as unsigned data ,which was not initilized and used .. So I hope you are also doing the same I feel so
